Leaders chosen for 2017

Year 11 students Sam McDonough and Grace Bowyer have been selected as the College Captains for 2017 following an election at the Isabella Campus on Monday morning.

Year 11 students and their teachers took to the voting booth after 18 candidates delivered impressive and engaging speeches at a special election assembly.

The 18 candidates were competing for the two College Captain roles and four Portfolio positions in Sport, Performing Arts, Sustainability, and Faith and Community.

At the end of a closely-fought election, Sam and Grace emerged as College Captains, while Jack Adamson, Natasha Brittain, Lauren Frost, and Molly Philpot picked up the Portfolio roles.

During their speeches, a number of candidates mentioned that MacKillop would be in good hands no matter the outcome of the election, which reflected the extremely high standard of the nominees.

The College congratulates all candidates for the integrity, talent, and commitment that they brought to the application process.

Congratulations to the following students who were voted by their peers and staff into leadership positions for 2017:

Girl College Captain: Grace Bowyer
Boy College Captain: Sam McDonough
Sports Captain: Jack Adamson
Performing Arts Captain: Natasha Brittain
Sustainability Captain: Lauren Frost
Faith and Community Captain: Molly Philpot

The College will now hold elections for the House Captain positions, Wanniassa Campus Captains, and Student Representative Council roles for each year group.
