Enrolment Events

Students and staff showcase their school

The College held three big events to promote enrolments for the 2024 academic year.

On 1 May, the Year 7 2024 Information Night was held at the Padua Campus. The College Principal, Mr Michael Lee, visited from his secondment in Melbourne to present to prospective students and families, before students took the guests around on tours of the campus.

On 5 May, roughly 530 Year 6 students from Canberra and NSW spent a day at the Padua Campus for Try MacKillop Day. This event gave our visitors the opportunity to experience a day of high school and to see what classes at MacKillop are like.

On 10 May, the St Peter’s Campus hosted the Year 11 2024 Information Night and Careers Expo. Current MacKillop students and prospective students were able to access faculty stalls for curriculum information before hearing a talk from acting College Principal Lachlan McNicol about the senior years.

The Careers Expo, which ran alongside the Year 11 Info Night, is one of the most valuable events for our senior students in the planning of their pathways after Year 12. Students were able to talk with universities, CIT, employment groups, apprenticeships centres, trades, and industry representatives in order to understand their options and opportunities in the future.

The College thanks all the staff and students who organised and ran these three big events.

For students who wish to enrol in Year 7 or Year 11 at MacKillop, please be aware that applications are due on the following dates:

  • Year 7, 2024: Friday 26 May at 5pm
  • Year 11, 2024: Friday 30 June at 5pm

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
