Book Week 2020

Students participated in a range of activities for MacKillop’s celebration of Book Week in Week 6.

Across the two campuses, students participated in a range of quizzes, competitions, games, reading and film sessions, and creative projects.

The highlight of Book Week was the Friday, where staff and students dressed up as characters from various books, movies, and games. Year 12 decided to embrace the theme as one big group, with the majority of them dressing in prison gear (which was not a reflection of how they feel about school, judging by the latest Student Satisfaction Survey results) and their Coordinator, Mr Longo, donning a prison guard’s outfit.

Acknowledgement of Country

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop made the statement: “We are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.”

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the MacKillop community.
