Music Tuition

Learning to play a musical instrument can be an effective way to support student development and their enjoyment of music. St Mary MacKillop College will continue to offer an in-school instrument tuition program during school hours in 2017.

Piano and guitar tuition will be available for new and continuing students on the Wanniassa campus. Provision of instrument tuition at the Isabella campus will be contingent on numbers. Please contact Bellchambers Music School on 6281 6270 to register for piano or guitar tuition.

Lessons are half an hour in duration and are held every school week. Scheduling is done on a rotating basis so that students will be withdrawn from a different class each week for their instrument lesson, according to the availability of their tutor. Students would have a lesson scheduled during recess or lunch approximately once per term.

There are limited opportunities for tuition in other instruments, including vocal, dependant upon the level of interest and tutor availability. Please register any interest in these other instruments with Mrs Kerrie Jiear: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Please note that the availability of tuition for a given instrument is dependent upon the availability of a tutor in the first instance and sufficient interest from students. External tuition may remain the most suitable option for some instruments and may be obtained from any provider.

All bookings, scheduling and invoicing relating to this program will be handled by the tuition provider and the College will have no involvement in these aspects of the in-school instrument tuition program. Please note that this includes notifications of intention to miss an instrument lesson for any reason known in advance, including assessments and excursions. The scheduling of any make-up lessons (if appropriate) will also be arranged with the tutor.

Instrument hire, if required, may be available through the tuition provider in some instances, or else through most instrumental music stores.
